UNBROKEN Showcase 2021

* * * Due to the current COVID pandemic our plans for the UNBROKEN Showcase have been put on hold – we will update this page once the situation becomes clearer * * *

Have you written a short play or standalone scene – or created a piece of spoken word, music, movement or dance – dealing with mental illness, its effects and consequences, or the realities and myths surrounding the subject?   Would you like to?   Or would you like to direct one?

In January 2020 we will open for submissions to the fourth UNBROKEN Showcase, part of the UNBROKEN festival, which will present a series of artistic responses to UK National Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2020.  We’d like yours to be among them.

All pieces must be concerned in some way with mental health.  The particular subject and the approach that you take is entirely up to you – don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

Some early arrivals waiting for the doors to open!

Once submissions open, we will update this page with specific dates and guidelines.  In the meantime, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter (@shadowroad or @unbrokenfest) and Instagram (@unbrokenfest) for more information about UNBROKEN in general and the Showcase in particular.   You might also enjoy watching this short film report from the UNBROKEN 2017 Showcase, produced by WinkBall:
